Meet Our Team

Ann Yount – Receptionist

Ann is one of the friendly faces who greets you at each visit. She joined our team in May 1999 and performs a variety of general office support-related duties. One of her favorite parts of the job is meeting new patients and families, and scheduling appointments to meet their needs.

Ann and her husband Wayne have been married since 1965. When she isn’t working in the office, she enjoys working in her yard, gardening and antique shopping.

Her favorite South Carolina vacation spot is Charleston.

Shelia Hulsey – Dental Assistant

Sheila has been a member of our staff since November 2017. She takes X-rays and impressions, and she assists our dentists chairside during a variety of treatments. Our patients are the favorite part of this self-described people person’s daily routine. She loves helping others.

Sheila earned her dental assistant degree from Central Piedmont in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1990. She also became X-ray certified in 1990, and received certification in nitrous oxide in 2016.

She and her husband Bruce have a son and a daughter. They also have a Yorkshire terrior-poodle mix named Brittany. When Sheila isn’t in the office, she’s likely to be driving her daughter to clogging classes, or shopping and spending time with family and friends.

Her favorite South Carolina vacation spot is Charleston.

Tammy F. Ruppe – Dental Assistant

Tammy has enjoyed the day-to-day interaction with our patients and the opportunity to help others since she joined our practice in January 1998. She assists our dentists with chairside treatments and takes X-rays.

Tammy has an associate’s degree in radiology technology from Cleveland Community College in Shelby, North Carolina that she earned in 1981. She also earned a dental assisting degree in 1984 from Spartanburg Community College.

Tammy and her husband have a daughter and two dogs: a Yorkshire terrier named Gizmo, and a Maltese-poodle mix named Sai.

Her spare-time activities include attending church, going on mission trips, and working part-time at Chico’s. She also loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking.

Her favorite South Carolina vacation spots are Isle of Palms and Charleston.

Beth Yelton Ellis – Registered Dental Hygienist

Besides improving patients’ oral health by performing the important tasks associated with professional teeth cleaning, Beth enjoys getting to know her patients and making them feel happy about their smiles. She also is a valuable resource for patients who desire nutritional counseling and at-home oral hygiene instructions to keep their smiles healthy between appointments.

Beth joined our team in June 2003. She earned an associate’s degree in health science from York Technical College in Rock Hill in 1998. She became certified to monitor nitrous oxide anesthesia in 1999, and earned her certification to administer infiltration anesthesia in 2011. Beth also maintains her CPR certification.

She and her husband Stephen have been married since August 2003, and they have two children: Lindsey and Andrew. They also are pet lovers who own two cats, Yoshi and Rosie, and two toy poodles named Ranger and Rollo.

In her spare time, Beth enjoys working with the children’s group at her church. Her hobbies include hiking and spending time with her family. Beth’s favorite South Carolina vacation spot is North Myrtle Beach.

Karen Parris – Certified Dental Assistant

Karen has enjoyed helping patients with their dental needs since August 1998. Her job duties include assisting our dentists during dental procedures and taking X-rays.

Karen earned her dental assistant certification from Spartanburg Technical College in 1998. She also is certified to monitor nitrous oxide anesthesia, and is CPR certified.

She and her husband Bryson have been married since May 1999, and they have one daughter. Karen’s spare time activities include spending lots of time with her daughter, whether it’s shopping or watching her play soccer. She also is active in her church. Karen’s favorite South Carolina vacation spot is Myrtle Beach.

Tammy Goforth Hancock – Dental Assistant

Tammy loves making people smile and helping our patients feel good about themselves. She joined us in October 2001. Her duties include taking X-rays, assisting the dentists with restorative procedures, polishing, and applying fluoride to teeth. She particularly enjoys doing crowns and bridges.

Tammy became a certified dental assistant in 1994 after completing the program at Spartanburg Technical College. She also is CPR and nitrous oxide certified.

Tammy and her husband Todd have one daughter and three pets: a dog named Jack and two cats named Max and Murray.

When she isn’t working, Tammy can be found watching her daughter play volleyball, or involved in activities at her church. She also enjoys baking, cooking and driving her daughter to different activities. Her favorite vacation spot in South Carolina is any beach she can visit.

Karen- Certified Dental Assistant

April Arrowood – Dental Assistant/Receptionist

April has been a dedicated member of our team since May 2001. When she isn’t handling front office reception and administration duties, she can be found assisting our dentists. One of her favorite aspects of her job is meeting new families and patients.

April received her dental assistant certification from Spartanburg Technical College in 2000. She also is CPR and nitrous oxide certified.

April has a daughter, and their family pet is a Yorkshire Terrier. Her spare time activities include spending time with her daughter, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. Her favorite South Carolina vacation spot is the beach.
